(NL) From the Archives: My Radio 2 Interview on the Digitrein Project
I was recently looking through my archives and came across this wonderful memory from a few years ago that I wanted to share. It’s a Radio 2 interview about Digitrein, a project very close to my heart that had a real impact on the senior community in Brussels.
Listening back, I’m reminded of how important and successful this initiative was, and I’m proud to have been a part of it.
Reflecting on Digitrein
Digitrein was a fantastic initiative from the Brussel Ouderen Platform, made possible with subsidies from the Flemish Government. The project organized a series of workshops in local libraries and community centers, all designed to guide older Brussels residents through our digital world.
My Role: It Was All About Independence
I got to see firsthand the incredible difference these skills made. For me, the project was never just about teaching clicks and apps. As I explained in the interview, the ultimate goal was to help people become more independent and self-reliant.
We covered practical, everyday tasks like online banking and arranging grocery deliveries. It was about empowering people to manage their own affairs with confidence, so they could feel more in control of their lives, all thanks to technology that was already at their fingertips.
