Why does technology have to be so intimidating?

Why I Started Digibeta

Hello, I'm Sara. My journey began with a simple belief: technology should empower you, not intimidate you. My mission is to help you navigate the digital world with confidence, offering a clear, patient approach.

Welcome to Digibeta, where you stop being a beta and start feeling digibetter.

Cover of a guidebook titled 'Symolenwijzer' with a yellow background and a blue cube with cut-out shapes. The subtitle says 'Ontdek de betekenis van digitale symbolen.' The top left corner has a pink label 'practische gids' and the bottom has a website 'digitaleinclusie.be'.

I am proud to have initiated the Symbolenwijzer ('Common digital symbols and their meanings'). My concept laid the foundation for this guide, which Mediawijs developed into a free book translated into 11 languages. This project reflects my core commitment to making technology understandable with simple explanations.

Where technical skill meets human insight

My journey with technology began with formal IT studies, which provided a solid technical foundation. However, my true expertise comes from a deep, real-world fascination with why technology matters and how it impacts people.

When I began my professional training career in 2018, I had a powerful realization: the "digital divide" hadn't really closed. I saw people struggling with the same fundamental fears and asking the same basic questions about technology that have existed for decades.

This is my 'why.' My drive comes from understanding this persistent, very human gap, and my mission is to finally provide the clear, patient, and practical guidance that people have always needed.
